How Scrabble Helper works

How does the Scrabble helper work?

It loads a general English word list of just over 200,000 entries into the browser, then converts your typed rack into letter counts (with ? treated as a blank/wildcard). For every dictionary word no longer than your rack, it checks whether your letters plus wildcards can cover the word's letter needs, scores the playable ones using standard Scrabble tile point values, and sorts the matches by score, highest first.

When would I use this?

Type in the letters on your rack when you're stuck on a turn in Scrabble or a similar tile game and want to see which words you can actually form, ranked by point value rather than just alphabetically.

Does it use the official Scrabble word list, and does scoring match tournament rules exactly?

No — it checks against a general English dictionary rather than the official TWL or SOWPODS tournament lists, so a handful of results may not be tournament-legal. Scores are also just the sum of standard letter values with no board multipliers applied, and a word formed using a blank tile is scored as if that letter were a real tile rather than worth zero, so treat the score as a rough ranking rather than an exact in-game total.
